Flood alert for Upper River Don catchment

River levels are rising in the Upper River Don Catchment due to heavy rainfall throughout Saturday 23rd November from Storm Bert, as well as melt water due to rising temperatures, and as a result and flooding is possible.
Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Don, River Loxley, with low lying land and roads expected to be most affected, particularly around River Don and its tributaries from Penistone to Kelham Island in Sheffield.
Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water.
Areas most at risk are low lying land and roads near rivers.
We are closely monitoring the situation and monitoring rainfall and river levels.
Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses.
