River levels remain high on the River Derwent at Buttercrambe. Levels have peaked at Buttercrambe, and will continue to slowly fall today, Friday 12th December and tomorrow, Saturday 13th December 2025. However, levels are likely to remain high into the weekend.

Locations most affected will be Buttercrambe Mill at Buttercrambe Bridge. We are monitoring rainfall and river levels and liaising with emergency services and local authorities.

Stay away from floodwater - it contains hidden dangers such as open manhole covers, sewage and chemicals .
