Flood alert for River North Tyne

Rising river levels overnight may lead to flooding.
Flooding is possible from the evening of 13 December 2025 .
As a result the level of the Kielder Burn and River North Tyne is expected to rise overnight, especially around Butteryhaugh. Current forecasts suggest that we will not need to issue any Flood Warnings.
We are closely monitoring the situation .
Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water .
