Flood warning for Tidal Fal Estuary

High tides, strong winds and large waves are expected to cause flooding over the next two days. 

Flooding is expected over the morning high tides on Saturday 6th December and Sunday 7th December. 

Spray and wave overtopping of quaysides, harbours and low lying areas is expected to flood properties.

High tide at Falmouth on Saturday morning is at 05:41 and on Sunday morning at 06:32, times of high water will vary along the coast. The forecast total high tide levels are 2.62mAOD and 2.55mAOD respectively. Expect tide levels along the coast to be around 0.4m above tide table level. Strong force 7 westerly winds and offshore wave heights of over 4.0m are forecast.

Stormy conditions are expected to persist throughout the weekend and flood alerts may remain in force into next week. 

We are closely monitoring the situation . 

Avoid coastal roads, footpaths and carparks, which may be flooded and activate any flood protection products you may have.
