Flood alert for Mid Devon Rivers

High river levels today may lead to flooding.
Flooding is possible on 20 January 2026 .
This afternoon we have seen heavy rainfall in the area.
Forecast levels may cause flooding to low lying land and roads close to the river from around 06:00 PM on Tuesday. The main areas of concern are Crediton, Newton St Cyres and Upton Hellions.
We expect the river to remain high throughout the night though no flooding to properties is currently forecast.
We are closely monitoring the situation .
Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water .
