Flood alert for South Devon coast from Start Point to Dawlish Warren

High tides and forecast weather conditions this afternoon may lead to flooding. 

Flooding is possible 2 hours either side of high tide from Tuesday 4 November afternoon until Thursday morning. 

Areas particularly at risk include Torbay, Teignmouth, Beesands, Torcross, Slapton and Dawlish.

The high tide at Exmouth on Tuesday 4 November is at 5.45PM, times of high water will vary along the coast. Forecast total high tide level is 2.42mAOD, which is 0.37metres above tide table level. Strong force 6 southerly winds and offshore wave heights of over 1.6m are forecast over the high tide.

Coastal conditions should ease for Thursday morning's high tide. 

We are closely monitoring the situation . 

Avoid beaches and coastal promenades, which may be flooded .

Flood alert area: Exposed east facing coastal locations including Hallsands, Beesands, Torcross, Slapton, Blackpool Sands, Brixham, Broadsands, Goodrington, Paignton, Hollicombe, Torquay, Oddicombe, Teignmouth Promenade and Dawlish.
