Flood warning for River Lemon from Bickington to Newton Abbot

Flooding is expected on Sunday.

Heavy rain falling in the Dartmoor area will continue throughout the day. This is causing the River Lemon to rise and the river is forecast to continue rising through the day.

Properties and low lying areas along the River Lemon will start to flood first. We expect roads between Bickington and Newton Abbot to remain at risk.

Flood waters may be deep and fast flowing in these areas. Residents are strongly urged to take action now. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings.

We will be closely monitoring the situation throughout the day and this message will be updated as the situation changes.

Flood warning area: riverside locations and roads between Bickington and Newton Abbot, including Bickington, Chipley Bridge, Morley Bridge, Chercombe Bridge, Ogwell Mill and the A383.
