Flood warning for South Devon coast at Beesands, Torcross, Slapton and Dawlish

High tides, strong winds and large waves are expected to cause flooding overnight. 

Flooding is expected either side of high tide on Tuesday 21st April evening and Wednesday 22nd morning and evening. 

Areas particularly at risk include Hallsands, Beesands, Torcross, Slapton, Blackpool Sands, Teignmouth Promenade and Dawlish.

The high tide at Exmouth on Tuesday is at 22:16, times of high water will vary along the coast. Forecast total high tide level is 1.96mAOD, which is 0.18 metres above tide table level. Strong force 6 Easterly winds and offshore wave heights of over 2.2m are forecast over the high tides.

Coastal conditions should ease for Thursday morning's high tide. 

We are closely monitoring the situation . 

Avoid coastal roads, footpaths and carparks, which may be flooded .
