Flood alert for River Yeo and Parrett, The Levels

Considerable water remains on the Somerset Levels and Moors. Flooding is forecast to affect locations and moors near the River Yeo, River Parrett, Kings Sedgemoor Drain and River Sowy, with low lying land and roads expected to be most affected particularly around the road at the south end of Westover Trading Estate. There is a risk of flooding to properties at Westover Trading Estate at Langport. The River Parrett remains bankful and spillways are running. We will operate the Parrett Relief Channel when conditions allow.
Further bands of rainfall are expected during Tuesday 10th February and through Wednesday. The outlook remains unsettled with further rain over the coming days, turning cooler and potentially drier on Friday and Saturday.
We are closely monitoring the situation and Field Teams are out clearing debris screens and checking rivers for blockages. Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. Don’t put yourself or others at risk. This message will be updated by 1PM on 11th February 2026.
Flood alert area: Low lying land within the Levels including Langport, Burrowbridge, Othery, Westonzoyland to the M5.
