Rising river levels this evening may lead to flooding.
Flooding is possible on 05 December 2025 . Flooding may also be possible overnight into Saturday.
The River Yeo is rising at Pen Mill and is currently forecast to reach the Flood Alert level overnight at about 1:00AM. There is some uncertainty, therefore this Alert is precautionary. Flooding is possible near the River Yeo, River Parrett, Kings Sedgemoor Drain, River Sowy, with low lying land and roads likely to be most affected, particularly around the south end of Westover Trading Estate. Showers are forecast on Saturday followed by another band of rain on Sunday. On Monday night into Tuesday, another heavy rain front is forecast, which could bring further flooding impacts.
We are monitoring rainfall and river levels . We are checking defences and clearing bridges, culverts and screens.
Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water . Start acting on your flood plan if you have one.
