Flood alert for River Yeo and Parrett, Bridgwater to the Coast

Rising river levels today may lead to flooding.
Flooding is possible on 18 December 2025 .
Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Yeo, River Parrett, Kings Sedgemoor Drain , with low lying land and roads expected to be most affected, particularly around low lying land west of the M5 to the coast, including Bridgwater and Chilton Trinity. Further flooding is possible today as river levels are expected to rise further due to heavy rain forecast this morning and into the afternoon.
We are closely monitoring the situation and clearing blockages from debris screens.
Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses . Take care and avoid walking, cycling and driving through flood water.
