Flood warning for Salt Moor and North Moor including Moorland

Water levels in Saltmoor and Northmoor remain high today, Tuesday 17 February. The Northmoor Main Drain Remote is 4.21m and is falling. The level in Currymoor is falling slowly but still high. Athelney spillway continues to run into Saltmoor and Northmoor. We are pumping at Northmoor and Saltmoor and have additional mobile pumps at both stations. Pumping at Currymoor has resumed and will continue whilst river levels allow. Tuesday (17/02/26) will be largely dry with rainfall returning to the area through Wednesday afternoon and evening before clearing to the east. Subsequent days are forecast to see the continued theme of showery conditions.

Catchments are saturated and rivers very responsive to rainfall. We are monitoring the situation and checking floodbanks and spillways. Remain aware of local water levels and weather conditions. This message will be updated by 1pm on 18/02/26 or as the situation changes.
