Flood warning for River Parrett (lower) at Langport Westover Trading Estate

The level in the Westover Drain is rising and flooding is expected on Monday 26 January 2026.
Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Parrett, with low lying land and roads expected to be most affected. Areas most at risk include Cheapside, Whatley Mews, Parrett Close, Bow Street, Moor Park and Westover Trading Estate.
Monday morning will be dry, however a period of heavy and persistent rain is forecast from mid-afternoon onwards. This will continue overnight and into Tuesday morning. Rivers, and levels in the moors, are expected to rise in response to this.
We are closely monitoring the situation and Field Teams are out clearing debris screens and checking flood banks and spillways.
Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. Remain aware of local water levels and weather conditions and don’t put yourself or others at risk. Start acting on your flood plan if you have one.
