The flood warning was removed, but there's still a flood alert in the wider area

Groundwater flooding in the Cerne Valley flood warning area

Get flood warnings by phone, text or email

Groundwater levels are falling. We do not expect further flooding and the flood warning has been removed.

Rivers and streams remain full due to high groundwater levels and will react rapidly to further rainfall.

We will continue to monitor the situation and will issue further alerts or warnings if necessary.

You are advised to take the opportunity to check any pumps are in good working order and that stocks of sandbags are replenished. Never drive through flood water, just 30cm of fast flowing water is enough to move your car.

Flood warning area: Groundwater flooding for Minterne Magna, Minton Parva, Cerne Abbas, Nether Cerne, Godmanston, Forston and Charminster.
