Flood warning for Upper Frome at Maiden Newton

Due to prolonged heavy rainfall, rising river levels are expected to cause flooding overnight, similar to this mornings water levels.

Flooding is expected from 7:00 PM on 24/11/2024.

Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the Upper Dorset Frome, Hooke River, with low lying land and roads expected to be most affected, particularly around Dorchester Road and Frome Lane area of Maiden Newton.

Further rainfall is forecast overnight tonight and tomorrow.

We are monitoring rainfall and river levels.

Please consider activating any property flood protection products and start acting on your flood plan if you have one. Move family, pets and cars to safety and turn off gas, electricity and water if it is safe to do so. Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water.
