High river levels on Thursday may lead to flooding.
Flooding is possible on 15 January 2026 from 22:00 as a lot of rain is forecast (20mm).
Flooding could affect gardens of properties of Langney Green. Fields and parkland including Shinewater Park could also be affected. River levels could peak similar to 09/01/2026, or perhaps a little higher. Rainfall is forecast to ease by 23:00 15/01/2026. Only isolated showers are forecast Friday to Monday. River levels and flood risk should begin to reduce in Langney by 12:00 16/01/2026, but could remain higher than normal until next week.
We are closely monitoring the situation and operating structures at Fence Bridge and Crumbles to reduce flood risk.
