Flooding is possible - be prepared

Flood alert for Upper Ouse

Get flood warnings by phone, text or email

The River Ouse is higher than normal, but has fallen significantly from its recent peak. Small amounts of rain are forecast Thursday evening, Friday evening, and Saturday. River levels will likely rise again Thursday evening, but probably only a very small amount. Minor flood impacts, with water approaching roads and properties could be possible on Saturday. River levels should finally begin to fall Sunday. However, more rain is forecast Monday afternoon, which will cause the river to rise again and further flooding could be possible next week. We are operating structures at Pimms Lock and Barcombe to reduce flood risk. Don't put yourself or others at risk. Avoid roads that flood, including Barcombe Mills Road. This message will be updated by 14:00 30/01/2026.

Flood alert area: Upper Ouse and tributaries from Slaugham to Barcombe Mills.
