The River Ouse is high and still rising between Scaynes Hill and Barcombe, following Wednesday morning's rain. Flooding will continue to affect fields and rural roads in all locations. Flooding will continue to affect gardens at Bridge Cottage and Dean's Water Mill at Lindfield Bridge on the B2028 near Lindfield. Flood water will also affect gardens of properties on Sloop Lane, and roads at Fletching Mill Bridge and Sharpsbridge. Flooding will also affect the Anchor Inn and gardens of properties at Barcombe Mills. Barcombe Mills road could become impassable. Very little rain is expected until Sunday 01/12/2024. The river is already falling near Ardingly. The river should begin to fall by 20:00 27/11/2024 on Sloop Lane, but not until 03:00 28/11/2024 near Barcombe, where flood impacts could continue until Thursday afternoon. Please plan to avoid driving through routes that often flood, including Barcombe Mills Road. We are operating our structures at Pimms Lock and Barcombe to help reduce flood risk.
