The River Ouse has fallen in Ardingly but remains high at Barcombe following Friday's rain (32mm). Minor flooding will continue affecting properties on Sloop Lane and at Sheffield Park, and roads at Fletching Mill Bridge and Sharpsbridge. Flooding impacts will continue to affect the Anchor Inn and Barcombe Mills properties with Barcombe Mills road impassable. Only isolated showers are forecast Friday and Saturday. River levels should begin to fall by 22:00 09/01/2025 at Anchor Inn, and by 23:00 09/01/2026 in Barcombe. River levels should return nearer to a normal level by Saturday evening. Further rain is forecast Sunday which could cause minor flood impacts to return. We are closely monitoring the situation and operating structures at Pimms Lock and Barcombe to reduce flood risk. Don't put yourself or others at risk. Avoid roads that flood, including Barcombe Mills Road. This message will be updated by 12:00 10/01/2026.
