Flood alert for River Lavant

Get flood warnings by phone, text or email

High river levels on Tuesday may lead to flooding.

Flooding is possible on 03 February 2026 from 14:00 as a lot of rain is forecast Tuesday (20mm).

Flooding could affect fields, roads and gardens. In East Lavant water may affect Sheepwash Lane, Pook Lane, the Green, and bridges across the river. Water could also approach gardens of properties at The Sadlers in Westhampnett. Rain is forecast to stop Tuesday evening, with only isolated showers Wednesday and Thursday. River levels and flood risk should begin to reduce in East Lavant by 10:00 04/02/2026. However, river levels will remain high throughout February and vulnerable to future rainfall events. More rain could be possible at the end of the week, which might cause more minor flooding.

We are closely monitoring the situation and operating structures in Westhampnett for the Flood Alleviation Scheme.

Don't put yourself or others at risk Avoid roads that flood (Sheepwash Lane). Report blockages to 0800 80 70 60.

This message will be updated by 7:00PM on 03 February 2026 or as the situation changes.
