Flood alert for Lymington River

High river levels on Tuesday may lead to flooding.
Flooding is possible on 27 January 2026 from 05:00 as a lot of rain is forecast (25mm).
If as much rain falls as predicted, flooding could affect land and roads, including Burley Road, Brockenhurst. The river will be bank full as it flows through Martin’s Road and Balmer Lawn Road and may cause garden flooding at Balmer Lawn Road. In Lymington itself, the river will also rise. Similar river levels to Wednesday, 21/01/2026, are expected. Rain associated with Storm Chandra is forecast this evening, overnight and into tomorrow. Further showers are forecast for the next few days.
We are monitoring rainfall and river levels and will ensure the river is kept free of reported blockages.
Consider activating any flood protection products you may have and avoid driving through watersplash areas in Brockenhurst.
