Flood warning for Barcombe Mills on the River Ouse

High river levels are expected to cause flooding on Friday. 

Flooding is expected on 19 December 2025 , as a lot of rain (45mm) fell on Thursday.  

Flooding will continue to affect fields, The Anchor Inn, and isolated properties at Barcombe Mills. Barcombe Mills road and Anchor Lane are likely to be impassable. Only a small amount of rain is forecast over the next 5 days. River levels and flood risk should begin to fall in Barcombe by 15:00, then slowly fall for the remainder of Friday. River levels should be nearer to normal in Barcombe Mills by 12:00 20/12/2025. 

We are closely monitoring the situation and operating our structures at Anchor Gates and Barcombe Mills. 

Activate any flood protection products you may have Including at Barcombe Mills. Avoid Barcombe Mills Road and Anchor Lane.
