Groundwater levels in Kings Somborne and Little Somborne are high but slowly falling.
At the borehole in Kings Somborne, the level peaked on Thursday 19/02/2026 and has since fallen by 12cm. Flooding is expected to be affecting cellars in a small number of properties along Winchester Road, central Kings Somborne and in Little Somborne. Mostly dry weather is forecast from Tuesday 03/03/2026 to Saturday 07/03/2026. Groundwater levels in the villages will continue to slowly fall.
We are closely monitoring the situation.
Residents are advised to prepare property resilience measures and ensure that pumps are working where they have been installed in case levels begin to rise once more.
