Flood warning for River Nene in Wellingborough

Heavy rain has fallen in the River Nene catchment over the last 48 hours which has caused the River Nene to rise and is forecast to continue to rise through the afternoon. Low lying areas near to the river are already flooded and we now expect properties in Wellingborough to be affected from this afternoon. Low lying properties near the river on Irthlingborough Road in Wellingborough are expected to be affected first. No further rainfall is forecast for today or tomorrow, however river levels are expected to remain high. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings. Please avoid contact with flood water. Our staff are out in the area to check the flood defences, clear blockages, and assist the emergency services and council. We will be closely monitoring the situation and this message will be updated online and on FloodLine by Tuesday 26th November, or before if the situation changes.
