Flood alert for Upper Derwent in Derbyshire

Forecast high river levels tomorrow evening may lead to flooding. 

Flooding is possible from the evening of 14 November 2025 . 

Areas most at risk are low-lying agricultural land and roads including Bamford, Leadmill, Curbar, Grindleford, and Rowsley. Heavy rainfall is forecast over the next 24 hours. River levels at Chatsworth Gauge will begin rising tomorrow evening 14/11/25. 

We are closely monitoring the situation . 

Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses & plan driving routes to avoid low-lying roads near rivers.

Flood alert area: Upper River Derwent from Ladybower Reservoir to the River Wye at Rowsley.
