Flood alert for River Wreake in Leicestershire

High river levels today may lead to flooding. 

Flooding is possible on 06 February 2026 . 

Areas most at risk are low-lying agricultural land and roads including Mill Lane and Water Lane at Frisby on the Wreake, Rearsby Road at Thrussington, Broome Lane at Ratcliffe on the Wreake, Frisby, farmlands at Hoby, Brooksby, Thrussington, Ratcliffe and Syston. Light rainfall is forecast over the next 24 hours. River levels at Brentingby Dam Gauge will rise until this evening on 06/02/2026. Levels will remain high until through tonight into the early hours of tomorrow, 07/02/2026. 

We are checking flood defences . 

Avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded & don't put yourself or others at risk.
