Flood warning for River Wye in South Hereford

River levels are rising at the Old Wye Bridge river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding (of property) is imminent. We expect flooding to affect properties and roads in North Hereford including Greyfriars area and the B4399 Holme Lacy Road in Hereford. Predicted peak:- Old Wye Bridge 5.0m to 5.3mon Monday morning, 25/11/24.
Further rainfall is forecast over the next 48 hours. We expect river levels to remain high for the next few days.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are liaising with emergency services and Local Authorities.
Please activate any property flood protection products you may have, such as flood barriers and air brick covers and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded.
