Get flood warnings by phone, text or email

Due to recent rainfall and to further rain expected from this evening into tomorrow Friday 19/09/2025, river levels are forecast to rise and may lead to flooding of low-lying land. Further rainfall is expected throughout the weekend. Areas most at risk include Lower Derwent from Bassenthwaite Lake to the coast at Workington. The Cocker from Crummock Water to Cockermouth. The River Marron from Ullock to its confluence with the Derwent near Bridgefoot.

Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses. Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. Refer to local authority website for road closures.

We are closely monitoring rainfall and river levels, clearing debris from weed screens and closing locks and floodgates where needed.
