Flood alert for Rivers Cocker, Marron and Derwent

River and lake levels remain high. Further rainfall is expected this evening and overnight, Thursday 18 December 2025. Locations most affected will be low lying land and roads near the lower Derwent from Bassenthwaite Lake to the coast at Workington. The Cocker from Crummock Water to Cockermouth. River Marron from Ullock to its confluence with the Derwent near Bridgefoot. We are closely monitoring the situation. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses. This message will be updated by 10:00 on 19 December 2025 or as the situation changes.
