Flood alert for Coast from Gretna to Silloth

Flooding of roads and low lying land is possible, property flooding is not expected.
Flooding is possible from 12:30 AM on Thursday 9 October. Tide levels will be at their highest between midnight and 03:00 AM.
Areas most at risk include low lying coastline at Skinburness Marsh and at Port Carlisle.
We do not expect the following high tides on Thursday afternoon and early Friday morning to reach flood alert level.
We are closing flood gates at Skinburness Marsh.
Be careful along beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads as large waves and sea spray could be dangerous.
