Flood alert for Upper River Wharfe

River levels are forecast to rise in response to heavy rainfall and snow melt associated with Storm Bert. Flooding is possible overnight into Sunday 24/11/2024. Areas most at risk are near the upper River Wharfe, with low lying land and roads expected to be most affected, particularly around Buckden, Bolton Abbey and Ilkley. Further rainfall is expected today and tomorrow. We are closely monitoring the situation and will issue Flood Warnings if necessary. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourse and do not attempt to walk, drive or cycle through flood water. Take care and consider activating your flood plan if you have one. This message will be updated by 12am on Sunday, 24/11/2024, or as the situation changes.

Flood alert area: Low lying agricultural land and possibly minor roads in the valley floor, including Buckden, Bolton Abbey and Ilkley.
