Flood alert for Tyne and Wear coast

High tides over the next two days may lead to flooding.
Flooding is possible from 1:45PM to 5:45PM on 02/02/2026 and 2:15AM to 6:15AM on 03/02/2026.
Locations most affected will be Seaburn lower promenade and Seaham harbour and Docks as well as coastal roads and footpaths. Further flooding is possible on all high tides until 05/02/2026.
We are closely monitoring the situation .
Avoid coastal footpaths, which may be flooded and beware of large waves.

Flood alert area: North Sea from St Mary's Lighthouse to Crimdon Park, North Hartlepool.
