Flood alert for South Cornwall Coast from Lands End to Lizard Point

High tides and forecast weather conditions over the next three days may lead to flooding. 

Flooding is possible over the high tides from Tuesday 4th to Friday 7th November 

Low lying coastal roads, promenades, car parks and harbours may be flooded. Areas particularly at risk include Newlyn, Penzance and Longrock.

High tide at Newlyn on Tuesday is at 3.25pm and on Wednesday morning at 3.48am. Forecast total high tide level is 3.04mAOD and 2.97mAOD respectively. Expect tide levels along the coast to be between 0.3-0.4 metres above tide table level. Strong force 6 southerly winds and offshore wave heights of around 4m are forecast.

High tides of most concern are Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday afternoon. 

We are closely monitoring the situation  

Avoid coastal roads, footpaths and carparks, which may be flooded .

Flood alert area: Lands End to Lizard Point including Mousehole, Newlyn, Penzance, Longrock, Marazion, Praa Sands and Porthleven.
