Flood alert for North Devon coast from Hartland Point to Lynmouth

High tides and forecast weather conditions over the next three days may lead to flooding. 

Flooding is possible 2 hours either side of high tides between Wednesday evening and Friday evening. 

Areas particularly at risk include Lynmouth, Combe Martin, Hele, Ilfracombe, Lee, Instow, Appledore, Westward Ho!, and Clovelly, Bideford, Barnstaple.

High tide at Ilfracombe is at 5:30PM on Wednesday 5th and 6:00AM on Thursday 6th November, times of high water will vary along the coast. Forecast total high tide levels are 5.23mAOD and 5.17mAOD respectively, both of which are 0.32 metres above tide table level. Force 3 to 4 south easterly winds and offshore wave heights of up to 1.7m are forecast over the high tides.

Coastal conditions should ease for Saturday morning's high tide. 

We are closely monitoring the situation . 

Avoid beaches and coastal promenades, which may be flooded .
