Flood alert for North Devon coast from Hartland Point to Lynmouth

High tides over the next two days may lead to flooding. 

Flooding is possible from Friday evening to Saturday morning. 

Areas particularly at risk include Lynmouth, Combe Martin, Hele, Ilfracombe, Lee, Instow, Appledore, Westward Ho!, Covelly, Bideford, Barnstaple.

The high tide at Ilfrcombe on Friday is at 06:00PM, times of high water will vary along the coast. Forecast total high tide level is 5.11mAOD, which is 0.53 metres above tide table level. On Saturday the forecast total high tide level is 5.15mAOD at 06:15AM, which is 0.51 metres above tide table level. Strong force 7 westerly winds and offshore wave heights of over 5.5m are forecast over the high tides. 

We are closely monitoring the situation . 

Avoid coastal roads, footpaths and carparks, which may be flooded .
