Flood warning for River Exe at vulnerable riverside locations in Exeter, including Exwick Mills and Mill on the Exe

High river levels are expected to cause flooding today. 

Flooding is expected on 27 January 2026 . 

Further rain is forecast for the area today.

Properties and low lying areas will start to flood from around 08:00AM on Tuesday. The main areas of concern are Exwick Mill, St Andrews Road,

and The Mill on the Exe. Flood waters will also overtop the banks at the Riverside Valley Park and flood footpaths within Exeter. Flood waters may be deep and fast flowing in these areas.

River levels are forecast to be high throughout today. 

We are monitoring rainfall and river levels . 

Never drive through flood water, just 30cm of fast flowing water is enough to move your car . Start acting on your flood plan if you have one.
