Flood warning for River Culm (Lower) from Cullompton to Stoke Canon, including Hele

High river levels are expected to cause flooding overnight. 

Flooding is expected from the early hours of 27 January 2026 . 

Heavy rain falling in the area will continue overnight.

Properties and low lying areas will start to flood from around 04:00AM on Tuesday. The main areas of concern are Hele, Silverton Mills, Rewe, the A396 at Stoke Canon and and roads at Columbjohn and Westcott. Flood waters may be deep and fast flowing in these areas.

River levels are forecast to be at their highest between 09:00AM and 14:00PM.

Flood warning area: riverside locations and roads between Cullompton and Stoke Canon, including Woodmill, Hele, Silverton Mills, Rewe, Huxham, Old Mill Trading Estate, the A396 at Stoke Canon, the B3185 at Silverton, and the Exeter to London Paddington railway line.
