Flood warning for River Teign at Newton Abbot Racecourse

High river levels are expected to cause flooding this morning. 

Flooding is expected on 27 January 2026 . 

Further rain falling in the area will continue throughout the early hours of the morning.

Properties and low lying areas will start to flood from around 08:30AM on Tuesday. The main areas of concern are Kingsteignton around the racecourse . Flood waters may be deep and fast flowing in these areas.

River levels are forecast to be at their highest between 08:30AM and midday. 

We are monitoring rainfall and river levels . 

Please do not drive through floodwater as bow waves may affect adjacent properties .Start acting on your flood plan if you have one
