Flood warning for River Teign (Upper) from Clifford Bridge to Chudleigh

Flooding is expected in the early hours of Sunday morning, 24 November.

Heavy rain has been falling in the South Devon area throughout Saturday and will continue on Sunday. This is causing the River Teign to rise and the river is forecast to continue rising through the day. Properties and low lying areas around Clifford Bridge, including the camping and caravan site, Dunsford, including The Mill and adjacent properties Bridford Mills, Christow Bridge, Lower Ashton and Crocombe Bridge will start to flood first.

Flood waters may be deep and fast flowing in these areas. Residents are strongly urged to take action now. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings.

We will be closely monitoring the situation, this message will be updated by 12pm on Sunday, or earlier if the situation changes.

Flood warning area: riverside properties and roads between Clifford Bridge and Chudleigh, including Clifford Bridge, vulnerable parts of Dunsford, Bridford Mills, Christow Bridge, Doddiscombsleigh, Lower Ashton and Trusham.
