Flood warning for River Dart from Buckfastleigh to Totnes, including Staverton

High river levels are expected to cause flooding overnight. 

Flooding is expected from the early hours of 27 January 2026 . 

Heavy rain falling in the area will continue throughout the day.

Properties and low lying areas will start to flood from around 02:00AM on Tuesday. The main areas of concern are Riverside and Netherton Cottages, Staverton Bridge and Town Mills areas of Staverton. Flood waters may be deep and fast flowing in these areas.

River levels are likely to remain high throughout the morning. 

We are monitoring rainfall and river levels . 

Never drive through flood water, just 30cm of fast flowing water is enough to move your car . Activate any flood protection products you may have.
