Flood warning for River Avon from Didworthy to Aveton Gifford

High river levels are expected to cause flooding overnight. 

Flooding is expected on 26 January 2026 . 

Heavy rain falling in the area will continue overnight.

Properties and low lying areas will start to flood from around 11:30PM on Monday. The main areas of concern are South Brent, Avonwick, Brushford, Diptford, Gara Bridge, Loddiswell and Aveton Gifford. Flood waters may be deep and fast flowing in these areas.

River levels are forecast to be at their highest between 11.30pm and 03:00am.

Flood warning area: Riverside properties and roads between Didworthy and Aveton Gifford, including vulnerable parts of South Brent and Avonwick, Diptford, Gara Bridge, Loddiswell and vulnerable parts of Aveton Gifford.
