Forecast rising river levels this evening may lead to flooding.
Flooding is possible from the evening of 20 January 2026 .
Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Yeo, River Parrett , with low lying land and roads expected to be most affected, particularly around the A37 south and A303 south west of Ilchester. The Ilchester to Limington road and road to Ilchester Meads. There is also a risk of flooding at Hainbury Mill, Ilchester. Water reaches bottom of ringbanks at Ilchester Meads and Ilchester. Further rain, possibly heavy, is forecast for tomorrow and we expect rivers to respond.
We are closely monitoring the situation and clearing blockages from debris screens.
Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water . Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses.
