Flood alert for River Yeo and Parrett, Yeovilton to Huish Episcopi

Rising river levels this evening may lead to flooding. 

Flooding is possible on 05 December 2025 . Flooding may also be possible overnight into Saturday 

The River Yeo is rising at Pen Mill and is currently forecast to reach the Flood Alert level overnight at about 1:00AM. There is some uncertainty, therefore this Alert is precautionary. Areas at risk include the A37 south and A303 south west of Ilchester, the Ilchester to Limington road and road to Ilchester Meads. There is also a risk of flooding at Hainbury Mill. Water may reach the ringbanks at Ilchester Meads. Showers are forecast on Saturday followed by a band of rain on Sunday. On Monday night into Tuesday, another heavy rain front is forecast, which could bring further flooding impacts. 

We are monitoring rainfall and river levels . We are checking defences and clearing bridges, culverts and screens. 

Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water . Start acting on your flood plan if you have one.
