Flooding is possible - be prepared

Flood alert for River Yeo and River Parrett Moors around Muchelney and Thorney

Get flood warnings by phone, text or email

Rising river levels may lead to flooding. Flooding of roads and low lying land is possible, however property flooding is not expected at this time. Flooding is possible from 7:00 AM on Sunday 24/11/2024.

Flooding is forecast to affect locations and low-lying land near the River Yeo and Huish Episcopi Main Drain.

Further flooding is possible throughout Sunday as high river levels rise further due to heavy rainfall, and as water makes its way down through river systems. We are closely monitoring the situation, and Field Teams are out checking flood defences and clearing trash screens.

Monitor local water levels and weather conditions, and avoid using low lying footpaths and bridges near local watercourses. Don't put yourself or others at risk.

This message will be updated by 11:00 AM on 25/11/2024, or as the situation changes.

Flood alert area: River Yeo and River Parrett Moors including access from Langport, Law Lane from Drayton, Law Lane from Thorney, Wetmoor Lane from Long Load and properties in Muchelney, Muchelney Ham and Thorney.
