The river level on the Washford River at Beggearn Huish remains high on Monday 9th February. Flooding is possible as a result. Areas most at risk include the Horner Water, River Aller, Washford River and the Hawkcombe, Monksilver and Doniford Streams and their tributaries, with low lying land and roads expected to be most affected. 

A band of persistent rain, at times heavy, is forecast through the afternoon and evening of today, Monday 9th February. Tuesday sees further bands of rainfall arriving from the southwest, although totals are expected to be lower than on Monday.

We are closely monitoring the situation and Field Teams are out clearing debris screens and checking rivers for blockages. Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. Remain aware of local water levels and weather conditions and don’t put yourself or others at risk. This message will be updated by 1PM on10th February 2026, or as the situation changes.
