Get flood warnings by phone, text or email

High river levels may lead to flooding on Monday 9th February and overnight into Tuesday 10th. Catchments are saturated and rivers remain very responsive to rainfall.

Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Isle and River Parrett, with low lying land and roads expected to be most affected, particularly around roads at Ashford Mill, Isle Brewers, Fivehead, the Norton sub Hambdon to Stratton road, the A356 and the B3165 at Chiselborough and the B3168 at Ilford Bridges. The lower River Parrett is bankfull and the spillways are running.

A band of persistent rain, at times heavy, is forecast through the afternoon and evening of today, Monday 9th February. Tuesday sees further bands of rainfall arriving from the southwest, although totals are expected to be lower than on Monday.

We are closely monitoring the situation. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses. Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. This message will be updated by 1PM on 10th February 2026 or as the situation changes.

Flood alert area: Rivers Parrett and Isle and tributaries.
