Get flood warnings by phone, text or email

Water levels at Sherborne Lake have risen due to last night's rainfall. Levels remain high but have now stabilised. Flooding may affect locations near Sherborne Lake, the River Yeo, River Cam, River Wriggle, with low lying land and roads expected to be most affected, particularly around the Sparkford to Weston Bampfylde road and Deep Ford Lane, Chetnole.

Rain has cleared south-eastwards on Thursday morning, leaving Somerset largely dry before another band of moderate rain moves in from the west on Friday. Patchy light rain is likely at times on Saturday, with a cold front on Sunday potentially bringing heavier rain.

We are monitoring rainfall and river levels. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses. Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. This message will be updated by 1PM on 20th February 2026 or as the situation changes.

Flood alert area: River Yeo from Sherborne to Yeovil, River Wriggle, Barwick Stream, West Coker Stream and the River Cam.
