Flood warning for Washford River, riverside properties from Kingsbridge to Lower Roadwater

Rising river levels are expected to cause flooding overnight as a result of rain associated with storm Bert.

Flooding is expected when river levels are at their highest from 10:00 PM on 24/11/2024.

Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the Washford River, with low lying land and roads expected to be most affected, particularly around properties in Roadwater and roads in Kingsbridge.

Rainfall has now generally moved out of the area although there is still the possibility of the occasional heavy shower during the remainder of Sunday and into Monday.

We are watching rainfall and river levels closely.

Start acting on your flood plan if you have one.

Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water.

Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses.
