Flood warning for River Parrett (upper) from South Perrott to Thorney

River levels have fallen, but will remain high, as a result of the heavy rain overnight.

Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Parrett, with low lying land and roads expected to be most affected, particularly around the River Parrett downstream of Gawbridge, the A356 at Chiselborough, the Norton Sub Hamdon to Stratton road and Parrett Works near Martock.

Flooding is forecast this evening from 8PM, with river levels expected to peak around 11PM.

Heavy rain is forecast through Sunday and rivers are expected to respond. We are closely monitoring rainfall and river levels and we are checking watercourses for blockages. Act on your flood plan if you have one. Activate any property flood protection products you may have. Monitor local water levels and weather conditions. Do not walk, cycle or drive through flood water.
