Flood warning for Christchurch Harbour Side

High tides, strong winds and large waves are expected to cause flooding tomorrow morning. 

Flooding is expected from 8:45AM on 21 January 2026. 

Areas most at risk include areas in close proximity to Christchurch Harbour including Mudeford, Stanpit, the Quomps and Wick area. The detailed tidal forecast for those who use it, is for the peak level at Christchurch Harbour of 1.60mAODN at 10:45AM on 21 January 2026, with Southerly force 7 winds. (mAODN is height above average sea level.) Flooding is possible 2 hours either side of high tide. 

We are closely monitoring the situation . 

Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water . Avoid beaches, coastal roads, footpaths and carparks which may be flooded
