High groundwater levels are causing flooding. Groundwater levels in Salisbury Plain are high but slowly falling. Areas that could be affected include: Winterbourne Gunner, Winterbourne Dauntsey, Winterbourne Earls and Laverstock. The Groundwater level at Clarendon was 70.04 metres. Property flooding is possible when it is above 70.00 metres. High groundwater levels will influence the level of the River Bourne as well, increasing the risk of fluvial flooding. Residents are advised to prepare property resilience measures and ensure that pumps are working where they have been installed. Residents may experience inundation of septic tanks and sewer systems. Properties may experience flooding in cellars in affected areas. We are closely monitoring the situation. If you have a pump, make sure it is working and switched on.
