River levels are high in Hellingly, but have now started to fall. In Alfriston river levels are high, and continue to rise. Throughout Thursday, flooding will continue to affect gardens on Hammer Lane, Grove Hill, and Mill Lane Hellingly. Flooding will continue to be close to properties on Station Road, Church Lane and Church Road, Hellingly. From 11:00 19/02/2026, flooding could affect North Street, The Old Clergy House, and potentially properties River Lane, Alfriston. Only isolated showers are forecast Thursday, Friday, and over the weekend. River levels should begin to fall by 15:00 19/02/2026 in Alfriston, and should continue to fall in Hellingly. River levels will continue to fall Friday, and return near to normal by Saturday. However, unsettled weather could continue throughout February, so further periods of flood risk possible. Don't put yourself or others at risk. Avoid roads that flood (Mill Lane, Church Road Hellingly, North Street Alfriston). This message will be updated by 20:00 20/02/2026.
