Between 15 and 30mm of rain is forecast through the early hours of Wednesday. There remains uncertainty, but if as much rain falls as predicted, flooding could be possible. From 04:00 27/11/2024 minor flooding could affect fields, rural roads, and gardens of properties on Mill Lane, Hellingly, and Grove Hill near Grovebridge Farm. From 08:00 27/11/2024 flood impacts could also affect gardens of Station Road, Church Lane and Church Road, Hellingly. From 12:00 27/11/2024 minor flooding could also affect North Street, Willows Car Park, River Lane, The Old Clergy House and Deans Place Hotel, Alfriston. Almost no rainfall is predicted Wednesday afternoon, through to the weekend. The rivers in Hellingly should begin to fall by 18:00 27/11/2024, returning to normal by Thursday morning. In Alfriston, river levels will not begin to fall until Thursday. Plan to avoid driving on routes susceptible to flooding, including Mill Lane and Church Road, Hellingly, and North Street, Alfriston. We continue to monitor the levels and forecast. We will update this message by 16:00 27/11/2024.
