The Cuckmere and Bull Rivers in Hellingly and Alfriston are all now falling following Wednesday's rain. Only isolated showers are predicted Thursday through to Saturday. River levels will continue to fall. Minor flood impacts affecting fields, rural roads and gardens are expected to ease throughout Thursday in both Hellingly and Alfriston. On Sunday 05/01/2025, another 20-40mm of rain is forecast, which could increase flood risk again. Plan to avoid driving routes susceptible to flooding, including Mill Lane and Church Road Hellingly and North Street Alfriston. River levels should return to near normal levels from Friday 03/01/2025. We continue to monitor the levels and forecast. We will reissue this message if flooding of properties is possible.

Flood alert area: Cuckmere River and tributaries from Vines Cross to Exceat Bridge.
