High river levels on Friday may lead to flooding.

Flooding is possible on 23 January 2026 from 13:00 because of the combination of rain and high tide.

Flooding could affect Privett Road. It will also affect footpaths at Alver Country Park, especially near to Apple Dumpling Bridge. Only isolated showers are forecast over the next 4 days. River levels and flood risk should begin to reduce by 12:00 on 26/01/2026, following the clearance of the beach outfall, currently being impacted by shingle.

We are closely monitoring the situation . Our operations staff will clear the outfall on Monday 26/01/26.

Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses . Including Privett Road.

This message will be updated by 11:00AM on 24 January 2026 or as the situation changes.
