Sunday's early morning tide at 03:00 am on 05/01/2025 is higher than normal due to unsettled weather with strong South Westerly Force 6 winds. The weather increases tide table values by 0.39 m. The total forecast tide is 6.02 metres Chart Datum (2.97 mAOD) at Littlehampton. For 2 hours either side of high tide, minimal flood impacts are expected. A small amount of water could find its way behind the beach and may pond on nearby land and fields including at Climping Street Car Park and Mill Lane. Sunday afternoon's tide at 15:15 05/01/2025 is forecast to be 22 cm lower (2.75 mAOD), but wave heights will increase so further minimal flood impacts could again be possible Sunday afternoon and Monday morning. Flood risk should reduce by Monday afternoon on 06/01/2025. We continue to monitor the forecast and routinely check the condition of the beach at Climping. Shingle and debris can be thrown by large waves. Access could be restricted during and after high tide. Take care if visiting Climping beach. We will update this message by 10:00 on Sunday 05/01/2025.
