Flood warning for Mock Bridge, near Shermanbury on the River Adur

High river levels are expected to cause flooding on Thursday. 

Flooding is expected on 16 January 2026 from 23:00, as a lot of rain (25mm) fell on Thursday. 

Flooding will affect the A281 at Mock Bridge, near Shermanbury. As well as extensive water in fields, flooding will also affect properties near Mock Bridge and their gardens. Only isolated showers are forecast between Friday and Monday. River levels and flood risk should begin to reduce at Mock Bridge by 12:00 16/01/2026. 

We are closely monitoring the situation . 

Don't put yourself or others at risk . Avoid roads that flood (A281 at Mock Bridge).
